SOUTH BEND, Ind. _ Even with its departure, the smile remained fixed on Matt Carroll's face, the confidence clear.
Momentum, always fickle, had fled Notre Dame just moments earlier Saturday, decamping for the Georgetown side when Hoyas guard Drew Hall connected on a three-pointer to force a second overtime.
But Carroll was certain that the Irish could coax the momentum back to their side.
And so as he led his team out of the huddle, he told his mates: "Here we go. We're going to do it."
Turns out he was right.
In a game that felt eerily similar to last season's epic four-overtime Irish victory, Notre Dame and Georgetown again needed extra sessions to settle matters.
