Jan. 30--Two of South End's most visible commercial renovation projects have been consolidated under a single owner.

The investment group that owns the Tompkins Tool Worx building paid about $7.2million Wednesday for its next-door neighbor: SouthEnd Steelyard.

The purchase gives 1900South Associates LLC control of the property between South Boulevard and the trolley/light rail line from Tremont Avenue north to the Pewter Rose restaurant building near East Boulevard.
