On November 17, the twenty-seventh annual RICHARD TUCKER MUSIC FOUNDATION GALA was held at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. This year's Richard Tucker Award-winner was JOYCE DIDONATO, who was showcased in the Norma trio (with CHRISTINE GOERKE and HUGH SMITH), the Act I duet from Giulio Cesare (with STEPHANIE BLYTHE) and the finale of La Cenerentola. JULIUS RUDEL conducted members of the METROPOLITAN OPERA ORCHESTRA, with the NEW YORK CHORAL SOCIETY.
