Washington Concert Opera, the enterprising presenting organization founded in 1986 by STEPHEN CROUT, begins a fresh chapter with its new artistic director and conductor, ANTONY WALKER. A veteran of three seasons as a staff conductor and chorus master at Welsh National Opera, Walker got a good taste of concert opera when one of WNO's touring venues, the Birmingham Hippodrome, was closed for a few years, forcing the company to offer Turandot and The Cunning Little Vixen on the stage of Birmingham's Symphony Hall.
