PASADENA, Calif. _ The welcoming committee was waiting.
A few minutes past noon Wednesday and two weeks after his decision to coach Washington State in the Rose Bowl after agreeing to leave Pullman for Alabama, Mike Price stepped off the team bus and led the Cougars through a crowd into the stadium.
A half-dozen Oklahoma fans pushed to the front of the crowd and began chanting.
"Roll Tide! Roll Tide! Roll Tide!"
It was not going to be Price and Washington State's day.
"You've got a chance for your dream to come true," Price said later, "had a chance for a storybook ending."
