JACKSONVILLE, Fla. _ North Carolina State was going to win the Gator Bowl _ and win big _ but the Wolfpack was still throwing into the end zone in the final minutes of its 28-6 pummeling of Notre Dame on Wednesday.
"They were mad from the start," said Notre Dame defensive end Justin Tuck. "I couldn't tell you why."
Wolfpack quarterback Philip Rivers could.
"They said stuff in the papers about the way we substitute," he said.
And Wolfpack tight end Sean Berton could.
"They hit Philip late a couple times," he said. "We didn't like that."
