DETROIT _ Once again, the Lions are victims of a Senior moment.

The latest episode in pro football's longest situation comedy was vintage William Clay Ford Sr.

Oh, the makings were there for an uncharacteristically exciting plot twist. The loyal owner, who typically turns a deaf ear to the piercing shrill of his team as it free-falls from the sky, braces fans for the possibility of decisive change at season's end. But he eventually stays the course, understanding fully that it's a one-way road into a brick wall.
