QUARTERBACKS
(ASTERISK) USC: Carson Palmer not only is this season's Heisman Trophy winner, but also the Pacific-10 career leader in passing yards, completions and attempts. A pocket passer, he finished sixth nationally in passing efficiency. In his past six games, he has thrown for 2,006 yards and 23 touchdowns, and at least four touchdowns in four of his past five outings. Iowa: Brad Banks led the nation in passing efficiency, but his real strength is his mobility and the threat to run (387 yards, five TDs) or pass (2,369 yards, 25 TDs, four interceptions). RUNNING BACKS
(ASTERISK) USC: Justin Fargas and Sultan McCullough have split time as the starting tailback, and Malaefou MacKenzie has started at fullback the past six games.
