TEMPE, Ariz. _ Maurice Clarett has to have a 100-yard game, at least, for Ohio State to beat Miami.
Three days before the Fiesta Bowl, all he could manage was a 1,000-yard stare.
"I'm tired," said the freshman, sitting on an interview chair in the sun Tuesday morning, surrounded by all sorts of distracting people, asking Clarett about distractions.
"It's been a long grind. Fourteen months of football. I played 14 games in high school last fall, then I went to Texas and practiced for a week for an all-star game, then I graduated from high school so I could go to Ohio State early.
"I went through spring practice there, then we had our summer conditioning, and then this season. What I need is three or four weeks off, sitting and watching TV, chilling. Then I'll be cool."
