The National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA, Washington, DC) has released the second-quarter 2002 results of its Quarterly Lubricant Sales Survey. The data are used to calculate the NPRA's Quarterly Index of Lubricant Sales (QUILS), which compares sales results from a limited number of lube marketers to a baseline value of 100 set using 1997 figures. While the QUILS is not a comprehensive report of lube sales, it can be used as a directional indicator for the lubricants markets. In this quarterly report, data for 1999-2001 were also included for comparison.
