Patricia Racette (Blanche) spent last fall in San Francisco as Lib in Turandot and Desdemona in Otello, then took part in the Richard Tucker gala at Avery Fisher Hall. The Manchester, New Hampshire-born soprano, first heard at the Met as Musetta in Boheme in 1995, is Genoa's Jenufa next month, followed by Violetta in Paris in May.

Soprano Christine Goerke (Mme. Lidoine) was Ellen Orford in Florence's Peter Grimes last fall. The Medford, New York native, who bowed at the Met as part of the Ensemble in Ghosts of Versailles in 1995, has dates in Atlanta for Beethoven's Ninth this month, then goes to Seattle for the title role in Norma.
