WASHINGTON, DC--The Federal Energy Regulatory Administration (FERC) extended the comment deadline on its proposed standard market design (SMD), for another month, from Oct. 15 to Nov. 15, 2002, after a number of interested parities complained that 75 days weren't enough to assimilate and comment on the plan.

FERC also said that it would hold three technical conferences this fall to address issues related to its notice of proposed rulemaking (NOPR).
