PHILADELPHIA _ An entire generation has been born and has grown to adulthood since the Philadelphia Eagles were where they are now.

That is 9-3 at the three-quarter pole, with the playoffs all but a lock, with home field beckoning enticingly, with a first-round bye in their crosshairs.

Not to get greedy, but the way the Birds are playing now, they could win out. Of their last four opponents _ Seattle, Washington, Dallas and the New York Giants _ none has a winning record and only the fading Giants have anything left to play for.

No Eagles team has ever won 13 games in a regular season. Only one has won 12, and it went to the Super Bowl. The last time the Birds were 9-3 at this point in the schedule was 1981.
