Aug. 29--Eight construction companies submitted bids Tuesday for the renovation of the Montgomery Regional Airport, and a decision is expected today after officials have had a chance to study them.

The first major renovation of the facility in 12 years is expected to cost between $6 million and $7 million as Montgomery Airport Authority members move forward with a plan to make it more attractive to customers.

In addition to base bids, the companies also submitted estimates on four alternate projects to enhance the renovation. The alternate totals were to be added to the base bids and then considered before any selection could be …
