Sep. 5--LAYTON, Utah--Despite broadcast reports to the contrary, Loews Cineplex Entertainment Corp. is not closing its Layton Hills 9 theater.
The financially troubled movie theater chain confirmed Tuesday the closure of three Salt Lake City-area theaters -- the Mid-Valley, Broadway and Trolley Corners. But the Loews Cineplex Layton Hills 9 was erroneously included in that group of closing theaters in at least one broadcast news report.
"That was incorrect," said Loews vice president of strategic planning Mindy Tucker via phone from the company's New York offices. "Layton Hills is remaining open."
