Gallery explores "Objects at Rest"
An artist from Syracuse and one from Manlius are on the slate of eight people participating in "Objects at Rest: an exhibition of still lifes," through Aug. 25 at the Oxford Gallery, 267 Oxford St., Rochester.
Nicora Gangi, Syracuse, and Hall Groat, Manlius, join these artists in the show: Phyllis Bryce Ely, Don Franklin and Glenn Grave, all from Rochester; Walter Garver and Norine Spurling, Buffalo; and Wayne Williams, Newark.
The gallery's open noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Call (716) 271-2570.
Chihuly pieces for sale inside Everson shop
Works by Seattle-based glass artist Dale Chihuly are recent additions to the shop inside the Everson Museum of Art, 401 Harrison St., Syracuse.
Chihuly, who was a featured artist at the Everson in 1997, holds international acclaim for leading a glassworks art movement. He has taken glass blowing as a studio art to a new level.
