Nov. 17--Supporters of Sen. Bob Graham took to the Florida State University campus on Friday to announce that his campaign to re-create a statewide governing board begins in earnest at a rival university's campus today.
The group thinks the university system needs a central board to replace the Board of Regents, which was recently dismantled by the Legislature. Making the new Board of Governors a constitutional entity that would protect it from the whims of the Legislature, supporters said.
