BEREA, Ohio _Terry Robiskie's message to quarterback Kelly Holcomb might be the same one he delivers to several other Browns.
The interim coach warned Holcomb through the media Friday that he might not find what he's looking for elsewhere.
Soon to be a free agent, Holcomb could play his final game in a Browns uniform when he starts the season finale Sunday at Houston. The three ribs he cracked Nov. 28 at Cincinnati were deemed sufficiently healed, so Robiskie will go with the eight-year veteran over rookie Luke McCown, who has started the past four games. Cleveland (3-12) will try to snap a nine-game losing streak.
"They're not 100 percent, but they're up there," Holcomb said of the ribs. He will wear some sort of flak jacket for protection.
But Robiskie said Holcomb hasn't proven he's durable enough to be a No. 1 quarterback in the NFL. Holcomb has made 12 career regular-season starts and three times suffered broken bones _ right fibula (2003, Browns), the ribs and a left wrist (1997, Colts). He also suffered a broken left tibia in relief of Tim Couch in 2002.
Asked if Holcomb can be a starter, Robiskie said: "Right off the bat I would say no. Obviously Kelly would want to hit me in the head. Kelly goes in a game and lights it up and the next week he can't play because his wrist is hurt. It's not Kelly's fault, but it's not mine, either. Kelly has shown he can drive this team and make plays and be consistent. The problem Kelly's got is the health.
