ORLANDO, Fla. _ One of the hot topics during the past two NFL weekends has focused on the decisions by some playoff-bound teams to pull key players from games. Nowhere were such moves more scrutinized than Monday night, when the St. Louis Rams beat a watered-down bunch of Philadelphia Eagles, 20-7, to remain in the hunt for a playoff spot, maybe even a division title.
Eagles Coach Andy Reid, his team having already clinched homefield advantage throughout the playoffs, yanked quarterback Donovan McNabb early. Running back Brian Westbrook wasn't activated. Left tackle Tra Thomas was excused from the game to tend to a personal matter.
