Dec. 31--A federal jury in Florida has ruled that Wendy's International Inc. should pay $5.1 million to a one-time potential franchisee who blamed the Dublin-based company for quashing a deal to buy 27 restaurants in 1992.
KMS Restaurants alleged that Wendy's wanted to acquire the profitable units instead.
The jury's decision Wednesday was the latest turn in a 9-year-old case that had been dismissed twice and then reinstated by appellate courts.
