Dec. 28--DAYTON, Ohio -- Local auto body repair shops reported a big surge in business this week following last week's record snowfall.

"We're loving it," said Rex Zimmerman, a manager at Carl's Body Shop & Towing on Wayne Avenue. The shop wrote 75 work estimates on Monday and Tuesday, about double the normal number for a two-day period.

More than a foot of snow blanketed the area last week, creating the kind of dangerous driving conditions that can create backlogs at local body shops.
