Dec. 23--The Giants have gone on the offensive in their effort to build a new $700 million stadium at the Meadowlands Sports Complex, stressing their unprecedented willingness to pay for their own facility.
According to a document received by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and obtained by The Record, the Giants -- who met with acting Governor Codey for two hours Wednesday morning -- estimate that in the past five years, the public has borne more than half the cost of construction for 10 new National Football League stadiums.
