Dec. 20--IBM CONSIDERS OFFERING PC SECURITY AT YOUR FINGERTIPS: IBM Corp. has been showing off an intriguing fingerprinting security feature on its ThinkPad T42 notebooks that could become standard equipment on laptops if it catches on.
The feature allows a fingerprint to replace or supplement passwords used to start up the computer or within chosen Web sites.
