Shizuoka Prefecture and a Shizuoka City-based agricultural coop recently tested a traceability system for tea, a product whose complex processing and distribution routes have made such a system challenging. The system is based on a two-dimensional data code and cell phones equipped with code scanners. Such phones can bring up product information quickly.
