MIAMI _ The Gators are in, and they're waiting on the Hurricanes.

According to a source close to the situation, the Peach Bowl on Tuesday will announce it has selected Florida over Alabama to represent the SEC in the New Year's Eve game in Atlanta. The Gators (7-4, 4-4) will face the loser of Saturday's Miami-Virginia Tech game.

Miami (8-2, 5-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) must beat Virginia Tech (9-2, 6-1) to win the BCS bowl berth that goes to the league champion.

There is speculation Ron Zook might coach the Gators in the Peach Bowl if they play Miami. Zook, who was fired Oct. 25, remained through Florida's final four …
