Jun. 22--Earlier this month, the U.S. Department of Labor came out with its employment report showing that Bloomington had the fifth-highest increase in nonfarm employment in April among the nation's 274 metropolitan areas.
With an increase of 3.8 percent, Bloomington trailed only Iowa City, Iowa (5.2 percent); Las Vegas, Nev. (4.8 percent); and Laredo, Texas, and Reno, Nev. (both at 4.1 percent).
