Your Best Investment in an Energy Efficient Future: A Preparatory Course for the Certified GeoExchange Designer (CGD) Exam and Certification
A two and one-half day program on November 10, 11, and 12 is being conducted for professionals interested in working towards the Certified GeoExchange Designer (CGO) certification or learning more about design of geothermal systems. The International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) has designed the ONLY educational program for this designation. Seminar topics include: open and closed loop systems, vertical and horizontal field heat exchangers, life-cycle cost analysis, design standards, thermal conductivity testing, installation procedures, system standards, and system design utilizing GeoExchange design software. The CGD exam will be conducted remotely on-line and students will have two weeks following the conclusion of the course to test. Students must register by October 21, 2003, to participate. The IGSHPA course fee is $1,000. Information on obtaining a CGD designation will be distributed upon registration. The CGD program is sponsored by AEE, GHPC, and IGSHPA.
Those interested in taking the CGD exam must make application for approval to take the exam no later than October 13, 2003. An application and certification/exam fee of $250 should be sent to the Certification Administrator, AEE, 4025 Pleasantdale Road, Suite 420, Atlanta, GA 30340. IAC/EADC Student and Alumni Network Breakfast Thursday, November 13, 2003 / 8:00 am
AEE is pleased to host a special networking breakfast for current and former students of the U.S. Department of Energy's Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) and Energy Analysis and Diagnostic Center (EADC) Program. The breakfast will be held in conjunction with a special IAC Session entitled "Research and Applications Experiences from Current and Former Participants in the U.S. DOE's Industrial Assessment Center Program." The breakfast will be held on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to 50 participants.
