Critical applications require uninterruptible power of a high quality. The most basic of these systems, such as the systems used to supply the critical branch of power in hospitals, utilize automatic throw-over switches. The most advanced systems are found in data centers where LIPS (uninterruptible power supply) and generator equipment maintain the continuity of power without one cycle of interruption.
