Installing a building control system (BCS) multiplies its factory-shipped value by a factor of 8 to 10. Figure 1 shows how the product value increases along its path to installation. Up to 75% of the final total value comprises installation and commissioning services provided by controls or mechanical contractors as well as by control systems integrators.
