UNIONDALE, N.Y. _ It's not like the Anaheim Mighty Ducks didn't already understand, but the New York Islanders drove home the point again Saturday.
Jason Blake's goal 4:20 into the first period sparked the Islanders to a 4-1 victory in front of 10,782 at the Nassau Coliseum, snapping a three-game Ducks unbeaten streak.
In keeping with the NHL trend in these defense-first days, New York and Ducks are a combined 8-0-2-1 when scoring first, and 1-9-1 when giving up the first goal.
