MINNEAPOLIS _ There was no fooling anyone about this, not after the University of Minnesota's most lopsided Big Ten Conference victory since the Truman administration, not after witnessing first-hand the running joke that is Indiana football.
So the Gophers avoided any patronizing talk Saturday about beating a young, hungry team, about anything-can-happen scenarios. The Hoosiers are bad. Minnesota needed another victory after two consecutive losses in October. And this marriage of convenience led to a 55-7 romp in front of a homecoming crowd of 45,398 at the Metrodome.
