PHILADELPHIA _ Say what you want about Larry Brown. The guy can sure get on a roll, and when he does, just make sure you have a lot of ink in your pen or fresh batteries in your tape recorder or minicam.
Brown blasted his way back into the headlines last week in Philadelphia, even if he did leave the city five months ago when he resigned as head coach of the 76ers and later took over the Detroit Pistons.
Brown said in a Detroit Free Press article that he "got tired of going to practice and worrying about issues that shouldn't be there," that there were two sets of rules for the Sixers _ one for Allen Iverson and one for the rest of the team _ and that "I can't coach a_holes anymore, I guess."
Brown spent the rest of the week in full spin control, saying reporters write stories based only on a small percentage of what he says and ignore more complimentary statements.
