Vitamin C may be related to prevention of stomach cancer and some ulcers.
That's the implication of a study published in the August 1, 2003 issue of the Journal of the American College of Nutrition, which found that low blood levels "of the water-based vitamin are associated with higher chances of infection by Helicobacter pylori. Peptic ulcers are now known to originate with these bacteria--not with stress as once believed. H. pylori infection is associated with stomach cancer as well.
