The U.S. EFW subsidiary of Israel's Elbit [ESLT] recently said its forward looking infrared (FLIR)-based Enhanced Vision System (EVS) will be the first of its type to be installed on large air transport class aircraft following a recent deal with FedEx Express [FDX].

EVS is a infrared (IR) camera system that will give pilots better view of navigation lights and ground features at night and in low-visibility conditions such as fog, Tim Taylor, EFW's president and CEO, told sister publication Defense Daily last week at the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) annual meeting in Washington, D.C.
