Every scandal catches fire with an emphatic denial.

It arrived quickly this week when White House spokesman Scott McClellan gathered his best indignation to say that Karl Rove, President Bush's chief strategist, did not illegally disclose the identity of Valerie Plame, an undercover CIA. analyst.

Someone did something illegal here, and wherever they are, I hope they get caught. There's no excuse for playing with classified information, especially now, during a war on terrorism.
