As the PGA Tour season turns for the home stretch, for many golf fans the debate is still not settled over whether Tiger Woods, with four wins but nary a major title in 2003, is mired in a semi-slump.
Believe what you will.
But as Woods returns to action for the first time in a month at this week's $6 million American Express Championship near Atlanta, it is the first time in six years that it is not a foregone conclusion at this late stage of the season that he will win both the money title and the player of the year award.
