MINNETONKA, Minn. _ Matt Thompson was watching his bright green jerkbait snake through the clear water of Lake Minnetonka when he suddenly spotted the image that every muskie fisherman thrills to.
A follow.
First, it was just a brown shadow. Then, it drew into focus, a muskie stalking the lure like a lion would its prey.
"That's 30 pounds of evil right there," Thompson said excitedly as he kept working the lure. "That's a big girl."
The fish coiled, arching with every dart the lure made. And it followed right to the edge of the boat.
It even hovered in the water for a few seconds, watching as Thompson made a muskie fisherman's patented last-ditch effort - sweeping the lure in a figure-eight at the boat's edge.
