DETROIT _ Bernhard Langer, who makes decisions on a golf course slower than most plants grow, has changed his mind. Sort of.
Earlier this month, Langer said he might resign as Europe's captain if he qualifies to play on the 12-member team for next year's Ryder Cup matches against the United States at Oakland Hills Country Club.
But at a news conference this week with U.S. captain Hal Sutton at the Bloomfield Hills club, Langer said he probably wouldn't resign his captaincy even if he qualified for the matches Sept. 17-19.
