The Commonwealth Conference and Events Centre (CCEC) is to shut next July after the venue's trustees decided against selling the west London property as a going concern. The closure will see the loss of 26 jobs.
Property agent DTZ said talks with a preferred bidder broke down last month over 'a lack of confidence in its proposed timetable'.
Negotiations with a short-list of interested parties are continuing and it is hoped a new owner will be unveiled by the end of the year. 'We want to make sure we find the right buyer,' a DTZ spokesman said.
