Sep. 7--DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.--Wallace Lowery says he pays enough taxes on his home. So when a man with a clipboard knocked on his door recently and asked if he would like to help roll back last year's 27 percent increase in the millage rate, he says he was so eager to sign the petition that he didn't think twice when the volunteer asked him to fill out three different copies.
"I was under the impression I was signing three versions of the same petition," Lowery said Thursday.
It wasn't until later, he said, that he learned he had signed two other unrelated petitions…
