Pitchers Brad Radke, Eric Milton Bring A Taste of Victory Back to Minnesota
BRAD RADKE AND ERIC MILTON, the Twins' two best pitchers, are best friends, too. Confirmation of that fact came at the end of last season.
Most players literally fly out of town once the season ends. Radke and Milton decided to do things a little differently.
They loaded Milton's truck--boxes, suitcases, even Milton's dog, Rocket--and drove from the Twin Cities to their respective off-season homes in Florida.
"It was a fun trip," Radke said. "We had the dog in the back. Milty drove the whole way. I thought I was going to have to rescue him when we were driving through the mountains in Tennessee; he was getting light-headed. But we made it."
Radke lives in Largo, Florida. Milton makes his home about two hours south, in Fort Myers. In the off-season, Milton makes the drive to Largo often, mostly for fishing excursions with Radke on the GuLf of Mexico.
Milton said his wife, Kim, never expects him to return on time when the two Twins get together.
