Aug. 18--HOKUMO AMERICA CORP., a plastic manufacturing molding facility, has opened in Bardstown. Hokumo is a joint venture between Hokumo and Hitachi High Technologies. The facility is currently serving Wintech in Winchester. Plans for future service include JIDECO in Bardstown, Hitachi Automotive in Harrodsburg and OHI Automotive in Frankfort. The company employs 10 people at the Bardstown facility.

RUTH HUNT CANDIES has opened a store in Woodhill Plaza, 2313 Woodhill Drive (in the pink building). This is the second location for the candy company founded in 1921 by Ruth Tharpe Hunt and …
