I first met the distinguished voice teacher Daniel Ferro thirty years ago. Alan Titus, who had given me my first job as a recital accompanist, brought me to his introductory lesson with Ferro. Alan had enjoyed successes at Juilliard as Rossini's Figaro and had also made an impression as the Celebrant in Bernstein's Mass at the opening of the Kennedy Center.
