`Election chaos' possible in several states Tuesday, experts say.(Knight Ridder Newspapers)

WASHINGTON _ Another Florida-style election meltdown is all too possible in many places across the nation when voters go to the polls on Tuesday.

At least 13 states face possible "election chaos" from many of the same problems that afflicted Florida in 2000 and in its latest primary on Sept. 10, according to a respected nationwide election-monitoring project.

Georgia, Maryland and Texas are all using new touch-screen voting machines for the first time, and some localities are scrambling to test them, train workers and educate voters on their use.
