KANSAS CITY _ Jerome Woods has a message for Chiefs fans wondering what he's been up to since suffering a season-ending injury in the preseason.

"Tell them I'm doing great and will be back next year," Woods said. "I can't wait."

It's been just more than two months since Woods rushed up from his safety position to make a tackle on Seattle's Shaun Alexander in the teams' Aug. 24 game.

On what would have been just another forgettable play in a meaningless dress rehearsal, Woods came away with a broken right leg while his team came away looking to replace one of its most dependable players.
