The new computers for 2003 are out and they process information a little more slowly than computers made 15 years ago.
Don't believe that? Good reason. It's not remotely true.
Now try this sentence: The new cars for 2003 are out and they get slightly worse gas mileage, on average, than the new cars in 1987.
Unfortunately, that sentence is true.
The average fuel economy for the cars and passenger trucks destined to be sold in the next year is 20.8 miles per gallon. In 1987 and '88, the average was 22.1 mpg.
