Congratulations to the Anaheim Angels, winners of the 2002 World Series.

Thank goodness the S.F. Giants didn't win so they could pin the win on having Dusty Baker's 3-year-old in the dugout. You know, like a good luck symbol. After the Angels won Sunday night, there was a shot of Baker holding his crying son.

I can't say whether little kids should be banned from World Series dugouts. I have my own story from when I was a little shaver and got to sit on a bench at a sporting event. My dad was coach of a community team that was playing the great Harlem Globetrotters, and I sat on the bench during the game. I don't remember much about the game, just the thrill of being on the bench. And I'm sure I wasn't a good luck symbol because the Globetrotters always win (almost). I must have been about 8 or …
