There have been more casualties as the fallout from the explosion at the Grande Paroisse plant in Toulouse continues. One is the NPK blending plant at Melville, owned by Engrais Nord France. The 150,000 t/a NPK plant will close permanently in September: the site is deemed to be too close to residential areas and the company, owned by three agricultural cooperatives, says that it does not have enough money to meet stringent new safety regulations which have been introduced following the explosion last year in Toulouse.
