In late 2001 and early 2002, a spicy ethnic marriage movie was making waves and sending audiences home singing. It was a moving, richly textured look at pre-nuptial jitters, a feel-good film that also happened to very smart.
Of course, that was before a big-screen sitcom called "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" conquered the summer box office. So now that "Monsoon Wedding" has hit DVD shelves, it's time to acknowledge which low budget bridegroom will still hold up after a few years.
