It was written, shot and edited in less than three months _ because United Artists saw the band as a "one-month wonder." It went untitled as "Beatles No. 1" _ until John remembered one of Ringo's famous malapropisms. After spending less on the movie than what the band's first album cost to produce, U.A. brass couldn't understand the lads. They demanded, without success, that the director redo the dialogue.
